FOR THE BIRDS!

Simple, yet modern.... bird houses! Yes, that's right....even the birds must have a posh pad! Great style to add to your yard. Hang them from your trees, porch or patio cover. Perfect for this time of year, when all the birds are most active. Chirp...chirp!

SHOW AND TELL TIME!

As promised, I'll be sharing some of our own home renovation photos from time to time. Since I've talked so much about the Imperial Trellis patterns, I thought I'd share our completed bathroom project, which features the Du Barry wallpaper from Osborne and Little. We went with an American Standard pedestal sink to make the small powder room seem larger and a streamlined one-piece toilet to make it more modern. I still need to find some art for the wall, but here's a before and now view....

TOTO...WE'RE NOT IN AFRICA ANYMORE!

But there are zebras everywhere! I cannot get enough of the zebra hide rugs. Not sure if I like zebras because they have mohawks or because each one is unique.....

This, my friends..... is my dream living room! I can't tell you how much I love the look of a white couch against a zebra rug. The custom table by Plantation is simple, yet the perfect accent to a gorgeous room. In my opinion, a hide rug is a requirement in a classic modern style home! Can't wait to get mine!

OHHH....HOW SUCCULENT

The bold look of succulents makes them an ideal compliment to modern homes. They thrive on neglect, conserve water, and retain their color year round. Faceted surfaces and geometric patterns make succulents perfect for adding texture to any indoor or outdoor space.

Each one being unique, I create these drought-tolerant beauties as personal gifts. The fresh succulents and pottery are hand selected to fit the personality and style of the person I'm designing one for.

This succulent garden was designed in a copper bowl for a transitional space. The variety of colors and textures in this arrangement were chosen to look great with indoor decor or as an outdoor centerpiece.

The succulent garden below was created in a green color scheme. I added red toned varieties and a low profile pot, which made it appealing for any style decor.

HAPPY EASTER! LET'S GET PASTEL

Since it's Easter, I thought I'd share this living room, by Brown Design. This is one of my favorite rooms using pastel greens, mixed with the natural organic grasscloth wallpaper and different textures, such as the rug. This room really projects a soothing and light feel. I must also point out the vintage sputnik chandelier, which adds the finishing touch to a colorful room. Beautiful work Brown Design!

IMPERIAL TRELLIS CURTAINS!

I discovered these curtains made out of KelIy Wearstler's Imperial Trellis fabric! They are on Brown Design's blog (which is absolutely amazing-you should take a look). They designed this gorgeous living room and included my favorite fabric! My goal is to find a similar fabric for a smaller price tag and have some flat roman shades made for my living room. So, my quest to find this rare fabric begins......stay tuned!

MY NEWEST OBSESSION

TRELLIS PRINTS! Below is the Osborne and Little Du Barry wallpaper we used in our bathroom. I can't get enough of the Imperial Trellis print from Kelly Wearstler either! My next search will be for fabric similar to hers, but not $120 per yard.

READY OR NOT.....

Here I am! This is not only my first blog-but my first post.
I hope to share some great ideas and design elements with other classic modern enthusiasts. I've done tons of research on my quest to find the right look, not only for the style I love, but for the price my husband loves. Let's face it, that's just as important!
I'll try and post pictures regularly from my favorite designers, furnishing websites and even some of our own project details. Feel free to share any ideas you might have that will contribute to our search for affordable classic style with clean lines so we can all benefit.
