It's been a while since I've tackled a project, and I had a bit of time to work on something that I've wanted to do for a LONG, it was the perfect opportunity for a MAILBOX MAKEOVER!
Our house was built in 1962 and I think the mailbox has been here just as long....obviously without any love for 49 years! It has been driving me crazy. It's a big mailbox, so I wanted to keep it and save some money. So, went to Home Depot, got some primer and bronze spray paint and I was ready to get started.

Here's what it looked like before (Yikes!):

Then I sanded and primered:

Then paint the mailbox antique bronze...and used a Paprika color for the flag:

Then paint the pole and ta-da! Looks like new-for less than $20.00!!

Now I just need to add the numbers and it will be like new!

  1. Looks great, glad you guys kept that mailbox- it has lots of character :]

  2. It's beautiful! You must feel so happy when you see it. What kind of primer did you use? Thanks!

Thank you for taking a moment to comment! I enjoy reading each and every one.
